Equality Act 2010

A new Equality Act came into force on 1 October 2010, bringing together over 116 separate pieces of legislation into one single Act, providing a legal framework to protect the rights of individuals from unfair treatment and to promote a fair and more equal society.

Along with individual benefits, the new act brings with it some potentially significant changes that have a very real impact on you as an employer.

Implementing good practices into your organisation can greatly reduce the likelihood that you will unlawfully discriminate and make you less likely to face legal claims for unlawful discrimination.
